SJEC to host National Science Day 2024 for School Students

Mangaluru: SJEC AICTE IDEA Lab and Department of Chemistry, St Joseph Engineering College (an Autonomous Institution), Vamanjoor Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Mangaluru, is hosting National Science Day 2024 for the school students of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in SJEC, Vamanjoor Mangalore, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by the Indian physicist Sir C V Raman in 1928, which led to his Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.

The National Science Day celebrations 2023 at SJEC were a huge success, with more than 350 students from over 30 schools participating in different events. The objectives of the National Science Day Celebrations 2024 are

To promote awareness of science and technical education.
To provide a platform for students to present their projects on the theme of “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat.”.
To develop curiosity among young minds about the application of science and technology in problem-solving using different applications.

The details of the event are as follows:

The National Science Day celebrations at SJEC are exclusively for 6–10th grade students of various schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The science day celebration includes science and technical events and a project competition or exhibition for school students.
Students will have the opportunity to visit the SJEC AICTE IDEA Lab and observe the operation of Advanced Fabrication facilities. Students will also visit the other state-of-the art facilities on campus.
There is no registration fee for the event.
Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided at the venue.
A maximum of 10 students per school can participate in this event.
School students should be accompanied by a teacher.
Every school should register their participation using the registration form available at: ly/NSD-SJEC-2024.
Spot registrations are not allowed.
Science & Technical Events: Students can participate in different teams out of the 10 students from each school.
Project Competition: The students are required to demonstrate their projects on the day of the event. The maximum number of projects per school is two, and each team can have up to five members.
All students need to report to the venue by 9 a.m..
