Seventh day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara

Davanagere, Harihara, September 5, 2024: Seventh day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, Diocese of Shimoga, began with a rosary led by the Legion of Mary at 5:30 p.m. at “Darshana Degula” (Apparition Place). Then the Novena led by Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ. Floral homages to Harihara Matha led by Basilica Rector & Parish Priest Rev. Fr George K. A. 

At 6:00 pm, Rev. Fr Veeresh Moras, parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Tirthahalli, hoisted the flag of Harihar Matha. Then he offered the Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme, “Mother Mary is a role model for the teachers.”.

In his homily he explained the role of teachers in educating children. Mother Mary is the perfect role model in guiding the children. The role she played as Mother of Jesus is really praiseworthy. She knew the plan of God. She walked in faith and never compromised values in life. Her prayer life and faith influenced many around her.

Rev. Fr George K. A. and Rev. Fr Richard Mascarenhas SJ concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.

After the Mass, Rev. Fr Matthew CMF led the benediction, and priests prayed over the pilgrims.
