Second day of Tredicina devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony held in Milagres Shrine

Mangaluru, June 01: The second day of Tredicina devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on June 1, 2024, at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, Mangaluru.

Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal, St Lawrence School, Bondel, celebrated the Eucharistic for the intentions of religious along with Rev. Fr Avinash Pais and Rev. Fr Nelson Peres, assistant directors of St Anthony Charitable Institutions, Jeppu,.

In a sermon for Corpus Christi, Fr. Peter emphasized the theme, “The Eucharist: The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ as Our Spiritual Food and the Heart of Our Christian Life.” He highlighted the transformative power of the Eucharist, calling it the best form of prayer.

Fr Peter explained that the Eucharist nourishes the soul, fosters unity, and deepens believers’ connection with God. His message inspired the congregation to approach the Eucharist with reverence, recognizing its vital role in their spiritual journey.

At the end of the mass, Fr Nelson Peris, Assistant Director of the Ashram, conducted the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which special prayers were offered for all the religious. Choir members of Bondel Parish sang and joined in the thanksgiving.

Payasam (a sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.
