June 16, 2024

Belthangady: The election for the School Cabinet was conducted at Holy Redeemer School on June 15th in the school auditorium.

The vibe of the cabinet election lasted for three days. On Day 1, nominations were filed by the candidates with the headmaster. On Day 2, candidates launched an open campaign during the school assembly. On Day 3, voting took place for eight different posts in the school cabinet.

On the day of the election, the candidates and the voters were welcomed to the polling booth.

Mrs Preetha D’Souza explained to the young voters the significance of the election and instructed them about the rules and protocols to be followed during the election.

Candidates were given a chance to campaign before voting.

Students from classes 5 to 10 were the eligible voters. To give the students the experience of voting and understand the process of voting, the necessary protocols were followed.

The elections were conducted using the Electronic Voting Machine app. The headmaster played the role of election commissioner, staff played the role of polling officers, and scout volunteer students played the role of booth security officers.

Students were asked to show their school ID card for identification, and their left-hand forefings were inked. After completing the voting, votes were counted by polling officers, and the results were declared by the headmaster.

He later wished the newly elected cabinet members and advised them to be good leaders and work responsibly, and he also appreciated the participation of other candidates.

School cabinet members were rightfully elected, and the elections came to an end successfully.
