‘Safe Traffic Rules- – a talk on road safety organised at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School always believes in training young minds with unique and intensity creative programme, to instill road safety and other daily measures, safe Traffic rules a talk on road safety was organised for the students on the occasion of road safety day. The primary goal of this was to give awareness about the safety rules so that the students take precautions while on the road. Our Principal Fr. Robert D’Souza, Vice Principal Belita Mascarehnas, and Fr. Anush D’Cunha were present. Diya N Yashodhar of Class 9 compered the programme and Portia of class 9 welcomed the guests.

This event began with Fr. Principal Robert D’Souza welcoming the chief guest Inspector Gopal Krishna Bhat from Mangaluru City East traffic police station, Kadri.  Fr Principal addressed the students by giving insight of the concern regarding road safety

The chief guest, Inspector Gopal Krishna Bhat addressed our students about the awareness and importance of road safety. He informed the students about the guidelines to follow while on the road. He also emphasised on the severity of the increased accidents and the repercussions of not following traffic rules and how we can reduce it by always being vigilant and following rules such as wearing helmets, seatbelts to which the students agreed enthusiastically. He asked the students not to travel in vehicles with people more than the prescribed limit

The event ended with an awareness campaign undertaken by students holding placards marched around the Bejai junction showing their concern and urged the public to follow traffic rules. The event was a huge success as the young students were filled with a sense of responsibility regarding road safety.
