Rev Fr Lawrence Martis passed away
Rev Fr Lawrence Martis (55), son of the late Francis Martis and Cecelia Martis, from Neerude Parish, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in Canada. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Mangalore on 1st May 1992.
After ordination, Fr Lawrence Martis served as an assistant at Yesu Nilaya, Bhalki, Urwa Parish. Later he was appointed as the Secretary to the Bishop. He also served as the editor of Amchi Mai, Konkani Marian Monthly., Director Pontifical Mission Societies. In 1998 he was appointed as the Parish Priest of Gantalkatte Parish. After serving there for two years, he took leave from the Diocese of Mangalore and moved to Canada, where he served for 20 years in different dioceses.
Funeral Mass on Monday, November 30 at 10.30 am (Canada) (9.00 pm – IST) from the Cathedral of St Catherine of Alexandria and can be accessed from the Diocese of St Catherine’s, Ontario the diocese, Canada.
