Republic Day Celebration at St Philomena College, Puttur
Puttur January 26: 74th Republic Day was celebrated at St Philomena College, Puttur. Principal of St Philomena P.U. College Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta hoisted the National Flag during the occasion. Vice Principal of the college Prof. Ganesh Bhat delivered Republic Day message. He said in his address that Republic Day honours the spirit of Indian independence and also honours the right of Indian citizens to elect a democratically run Government. It is the duty of every citizen to salute to the bravery and sacrifice of legendary personalities who paved a path for a peaceful living in the Nation with secular thoughts, justice, equality and freedom.
Principal of the College Rev. Dr Anthony Prakash Monteiro presided over the program and called for the students to bring to their mind of their duties as responsible citizens in a democracy. He reminded the students how celebration of National Festivals binds the minds of the entire Nation together and there by highlighting the meaning of the great message of Unity in Diversity.
Faculty members, administrative staff, NCC cadets, Rovers and Rangers and students were present on the occasion. Thejaswi Bhat K, NCC officer for the Naval Wing compered the program.
