Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated at Lourdes Central School, Mangaluru
Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School organized programme on the occasion of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 6th September 2024 in the school lobby.
The Manager, Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Principal, Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, Vice Principals, Ms Belita Mascarenhas, and the Chief Guest of the Day, Rev. Fr Roshan Dsouza, the Vice Chancellor of Udupi Diocese, were on Dais.
The programme began with the universal prayer followed by a melodious prayer song sung by the junior choir group, which created a prayerful ambience. The principal welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest, Rev. Fr Roshan Dsouza.
The chief guest in his address narrated a story of two cranes and a turtle representing the virtue of humility. He stressed ‘Be humble’ and success follows us when we are humble to each other.
Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager, addressed the gathering, giving a message on how Mary loved Jesus throughout her life, as our mothers love their children. So we, as children, must recognize and love our mother.
Class 9 students highlighted the significance of the day through a role play. The students of classes 1, 2, and 3 performed a beautiful dance based on the Nativity of Mother Mary. Adrian of class 10 proposed the vote of thanks.
Catholic students gathered at the lobby auditorium and offered flowers to Mother Mary, and the program concluded with a Eucharistic Celebration.
