Muller Medi EXPO Begins with Young Scientists Innovations
Mangaluru: The health exhibition, courtesy of Father Muller Medical College and Father Muller Research Centre, in celebration of 25 years of the MBBS programme, commenced on October 13 at 9 a.m. with an inaugural bringing in young scientists with their innovations.
The chief guest for the inaugural, Professor Dr Sathyabodh M. Kulkarni, Dean-Research and Consultancy NITK Suratkal, was overjoyed with the participation of students, with over 120 models on display. He was proud of his association with the Father Muller Charitable Institutions in one form or another since 1993, and his daughter is an alumnus of the Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College. The enthusiasm of the Management to bring young minds to a larger pedestal of scientific acumen needs to be appreciated. He strongly urged the students to inculcate scientific interests and work on any basic ideas for their own and our country’s growth.
Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of FMCI, was proud of the large turnout of students who desired to do more for the country by being researchers and scientists. The Chandrayan or Aditya mission was not possible without a vision and a dream. Thus, all students should dream, question, and strive to find the answer. Any profession a person chooses should be their gem; polish it and make it shine.
Students from various schools gathered at the Muller Dine of the Father Muller Convention Centre from all parts of the district with their models. Many visitors, too, came in to see the exhibits. The EXPO is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday to all the public and especially encourages parents and guardians to get their young ones to see the various models.
The EXPO also has paintings on exhibit by doctors. Dr Akther Hussain, Former Dean Yenepoya Dental College, has put on display many paintings that reflect nature and cosmic drama. The EXPO has a nice feel, giving it a winter wonderland touch.
Rev. Fr Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator, FMMC/FMCP/FMCOAHS, encourages the students, asking them questions on their models. Dr. B. Sanjeev Rai, Chief of Research, Father Muller Research Centre, welcomed the gathered students along with the Management Committee members of FMCI.
