Ms. Reshel Bretny Fernandes from Mangaluru awarded the Kittur Rani Chennamma award by the Govt. of Karnataka

Mangaluru: Ms. Reshel Bretny Fernandes, a young author and orator with accomplishments at the international and other levels in the literary field and being awarded with awards at various levels, was honoured with the prestigious ‘Kittur Rani Chennamma’ award by the Government of Karnataka on behalf of International Women’s Day celebrations at Ravindra Kala Bhavana Bengaluru on March 8, 2025.

She was felicitated by guest of honour Smt. Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Hon. Minister from Women and Child Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka; Dr. Nagalakshmi Chaudary, chairman of the state women commission; and other honoured dignitaries.

Ms. Reshel is the sole woman/girl from Dakshina Kannada to be the recipient of the award.

Ms. Reshel hails from Surathkal and is the daughter of teachers Mr. Ronald and Mrs. Nancy Fernandes. She’s currently pursuing an LLB at SDM Law College Mangaluru. 

She was the alumna of Dps Mrpl, Ladyhill Victoria PU College, and Sri Mahaveera College Moodbidri.
