Mount Carmel students and parents lavish love on their teachers on Teachers’ Day

Mangaluru: The students and parents of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru celebrated the Teachers’ Day on September 5th 2022 with love, appreciation and gratitude.

The Student Cabinet organized  the celebration entitled “Magistri Celebrantes” commemorating the birth of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on 5th September in the school auditorium. The program began by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer session. The welcome address was delivered by Miss Benita Rodrigues, the Head Girl of the school. The significance of the day was presented by Srishti, elaborating the role of a teacher in a student’s life.

The cultural extravaganza dedicated to the teachers began with various dances filled with energetic moves by the students of Grade X and XII.
A short video encompassing messages from the old students of the School was also presented, ringing a sense of happiness and nostalgia in the hearts of the teachers.
Further, Sr Melissa addressed the gathering expressing her joy on the occasion and appreciated the school cabinet members for their untiring efforts in organising such a memorable performance for the staff.

Numerous spot games were conducted accentuating the momentum of the occasion. Head girl and head boy awarded prizes were awarded to the winners of the spot games as well as the winners of the group games conducted on September 3rd. Ronan Lobo, the head boy, delivered the vote of thanks. A token made by the Roman and Catherine Lobo residential school for the visually impaired, was presented to all the teachers indicating affection and gratitude from the students. The program was compared by Mahati Pavanaskar, Aneka V, Christo Alex and Jessica Miranda of Grade X and XII respectively.

Later, the PTEC members organized a get-together for the teaching and non-teaching staff in the school auditorium. The event began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Mrs Jennifer Fernandes, the vice president of PTA. Then, Dr Preeti Keerthi DSouza conducted various games and fun activities to add on to the teacher’s delight. Expressing a heartfelt gratitude through a song, the PTEC members presented a token of love and appreciation to all the staff members. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Michael Andrade. Sr Melissa, on behalf of the faculty of MCCS expressed her gratitude to the PTEC members for their meaningful and fun filled program.
The celebration ended with a fellowship meal sponsored by PTEC members.
