June 6, 2025

Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, organized Parent-Teacher Interactions for the parents of LKG and UKG on June 3, and for Nursery parents on June 4, marking the beginning of the academic year 2025-26. The primary objective of the sessions was to provide essential information about the school while fostering a warm, engaging, and collaborative start to each child’s educational journey.

The programme on June 3 commenced with a prayer, invoking the divine presence of the Almighty. A delightful performance by the UKG children set a cheerful tone as they creatively welcomed their parents. In her welcome address, the Principal, Sr Melissa, extended warm greetings and emphasized the shared responsibility of nurturing young minds in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.

The LKG and UKG teachers introduced themselves and dedicated a heartfelt song to the parents as a token of appreciation and partnership. An overview of the daily routines in the kindergarten section was presented, with insights into the importance of Circle Time shared by Teacher Joyce. Various aspects such as the common assembly, curriculum, assessment methods, games, and storytelling sessions were elaborated on by Teachers Swathi, Orine, Sumana, Melisha, and Sandra, respectively.

Teacher Neetha gave a detailed presentation on the school’s rules and regulations, while Teacher Shyla highlighted the significance of parental involvement in a child’s learning and growth during the foundational years. Parents were encouraged to share their questions, suggestions, and expectations, making the session interactive and collaborative.

On June 4, an orientation session was held for Nursery parents, beginning with a prayer led by Teacher Sandra, followed by a vibrant and creative welcome by the UKG students, which delighted the audience. Principal Sr Melissa warmly welcomed the parents to the Mount Carmel family and reiterated the school’s commitment to providing a nurturing and joyful learning environment for the youngest learners.

Sr Vinitha, along with Teachers Sonali, Pramila, and Clara, shared insights about the school environment, curriculum, daily routines, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies. Parents actively engaged in the discussion, raising queries related to snack policies, nap time, and pickup procedures, all of which were addressed clearly and reassuringly by the Nursery team.

The gleam in the eyes of many parents reflected their joy and excitement as they embarked on this new chapter in their child’s academic life. The sessions succeeded in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, alleviating initial concerns and laying a strong foundation for meaningful school-home collaboration.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Teacher Sumana.
