Mount Carmel Central School celebrates World Thinking Day

Mangaluru: The world we have created is the process of our own thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking. The Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls of Mount Carmel Central School Maryhill, Mangaluru celebrated the World Thinking Day 2022 in the school auditorium. Scout Aaron Calvin D’Souza, Guide Jovial Anna D’Souza, Cub Reon Aloysius Pinto and Bulbul Dianne Coelho compeered the programme, which began with the All Faith Prayer followed by words of welcome. The chief guest of the programme Mrs Jayawanthi Soans, a Guides Lady Trainer who is also the Joint Secretary of Dakshina Kannada Bharat Scouts & Guides Association was welcomed with a flower sapling. Students highlighted the significance of the day and also the theme of this year’s World Thinking Day 2022 – “Our World: Our Equal Future: The Environment and Gender Equality.”

A scintillating dance performance depicting the respect to our elders and preserving our Indian culture was performed by the students. They also highlighted unity in India keeping to the theme of the year through their dance. The programme ended with a few calm and cool Yoga exercises and an energetic pyramid dance. The chief guest Mrs Jayawanthi Soans in her address motivated the students to live to their motto ‘Be Prepared’. She also inspired them to live life following the nine parts of law of their association. 

Later, 66 students were enrolled as Scouts and Guides through the Investiture Ceremony. The guest along with the principal, vice principal, captains of scouts and guides planted a sapling giving importance to this year’s theme “Our World: Our Equal Future: The Environment and Gender Equality.” The chief guest requested the Scouts and Guides to nurture that plant.

The Junior Cubs and Bulbuls also celebrated World Thinking Day keeping in mind the theme –  “Our World: Our Equal Future: The Environment and Gender Equality”. The programme commenced invoking God’s blessings. Bulbul Sparsha and Cub Tanish accorded a cordial welcome to the gathering. The action song   “we shall overcome” uplifted the spirit of Cubs and Bulbuls and synchronised with the theme.

The significance of the day was meaningfully articulated. The cultural programme of dance and patriotic song gave colour to the programme.  The colouring activity on the theme not only added colour but set the cubs and bulbuls really think deep. The chief guest, teacher Clara, who is a President Guider, in her message urged the cubs and bulbuls to be disciplined, responsible and to do their best at every step. She also brought cheer in them through a few songs.

The Bulbul Hansika and Cub Samarjith were the emcees of the programme which concluded not only with a sweet vote of thanks but also with a sweet to the palate.
