MLC Ivan D’Souza and Catholic Sabha Leaders Mourn the Passing of Pope Francis
Mangaluru: Upon receiving the news of the passing of the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, Member of the Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza and Alwyn D’Souza, Central President of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), visited the Bishop’s House in Mangalore and paid their final respects by offering floral tributes to the Pope’s portrait.
As soon as the news of Pope Francis’s death was received, prayers were held across all churches in the Mangalore Diocese. In honor of the Pope, MLC Ivan D’Souza and Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) Central President Alwyn D’Souza visited the Bishop’s House and paid tribute by placing flowers before his portrait.
Pope Francis, who served as the Supreme Head of the Roman Catholic Church for twelve years, spread the message of peace across the world. He strongly advocated for unity within the global Roman Catholic community and believed that love and faith could conquer the world.
Today, the Bishop of Mangalore, Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, expressed his condolences and also offered floral tribute at the portrait placed in the Bishop’s residence.
Present on the occasion were Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Congress leaders Manuraj, Vikas Shetty, Siraj Bajpe, Yogesh Nayak, Nisar Bajpe, and Arun D’Souza, President of the Catholic Sabha City Deanery.
