MCC Bank’s renovated administrative office inaugurated on its Founder’s Day
Mangaluru: The inauguration and blessing of the Renovated and futuristic state-of-the-art administrative office of MCC Bank Ltd., one of the premiere urban co-operative banks in coastal Karnataka, was held on May 10, 2024, on the occasion of the 112th Founders Day Celebration.
On this special occasion, a Thanksgiving holy mass was celebrated. Rev.Fr Robert Dsouza, principal of Lourds Central School, was the main celebrant of the mass.
The renovated and futuristic state-of-the-art administrative office was inaugurated by the chairman, ‘Sahakara Ratna’, Mr Anil Lobo. Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth Parish Priest, Our Lady of Miracles Church Milagres, Mangalore, blessed the renovated premises.
‘Sahakara Ratna’, Mr Anil Lobo, in his keynote address, welcomed the dignitaries, guests, invitees, and staff members. He reiterated that the main objectives of the founders while opening the bank were co-operation and co-existence, and the same objectives have remained even today at MCC Bank Ltd. The world has gone digital, and without modern technology, it is impossible to survive in the banking industry. Therefore, appropriate action has been taken to upgrade the technological aspects of banking. The area of operation of the bank has been extended to the entire state of Karnataka, and hence it is necessary to have a futuristic state-of-the-art administrative office. He praised the services of Chavalier Clarence Pais, who has rendered 74 years of dedicated service as a legal advisor to the bank.
The dignitaries of the program, along with the family members of the founder, P.F.X. Saldanha, offered floral tributes to the founder’s portrait.
Speaking during the occasion, Rev.Fr Bonaventure Nazareth congratulated the bank for its tremendous growth over the past six years. He said that the present constituents of the bank have the greater responsibility of influencing the future generation of the bank through dedicated and trust-worthy service. He praised the services of Advocate Clarence Pais to society. He said that Mr Clarence Pais leads an exemplary life of truthfulness and honesty. He deserves honour for his 75 years of service to society. Though he is physically old, he is young in his thinking and beliefs. Fr Nazareth wished all well for MCC Bank and its constituents.

Mr Deril Lasrado, Senior Manager, Recovery, presented a brief note on the milestone offers presented by the bank on the occasion of achieving a 1,000 crore business turnover. It was noted with applause that 2300 customers have been identified as “Diamond Customers,” and all the services of the bank will be free to these customers for the next year, starting on May 10, 2024.
The Diamond Customer card was launched by the Chief Guest, Mr Clifford Lobo, Asst. Conservator of Forests, Udupi District. The initial cards were issued to Advocate Mr Clarence Pais and Rev.Fr Bonaventure Nazareth.
Advocate Clarence Pais, Legal Advisor to M.C.C. Bank Ltd., a renowned senior advocate and luminary of our community, was felicitated during the occasion for his 75 years of public service. A documentary on the life and achievements was presented to the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pais thanked the administration of the bank for honoring and felicitating him. He said that as MCC Bank is following the principles of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the bank has grown to be a customer-centric and customer-friendly bank. The bank has established itself as a trustworthy and unbiased institution, for which the chairman of the bank has been conferred with the ‘Sahakara Ratna’ award. The award is a jewel in the field of service and presents loads of appreciation to the bank. He cherished the fact that, during his tenure as a legal advisor, not a single opinion had been found wrong.
The customers, who were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries during the month of May, were honoured by the chairman. The architect, Mr. Deepak Dsouza of General Corporation, who designed the renovated premises, was honoured. All the vendors who contributed towards the renovation of the premises were also honored. The former Dy General Manager, Mr Felix Fernandes, was recognised and honoured for his presence during the occasion.
The chief guest, Mr Clifford Lobo, Asst. Conservator of Forests, Udupi District, congratulated the bank on the occasion of celebrating Founder’s Day. He emphasised that celebrating Founder’s Day of the Bank reminds us of the vision, mission, and objectives of the bank. It helps us to tread forward with more vigour towards the upliftment of society. He wished all well for the bank.
The former chairman of MCC Bank and renowned Senior Advocate, Mr M. P. Noronha, was the guest of honour. In his address, he expressed that it is essential to celebrate Founder’s Day in order to recall the vision of the bank. He expressed that, under the leadership of Mr Anil Lobo and the directors, the bank is heading with the speed of an airplane, and hence the administrative office has been renovated like an airport. He expressed his satisfaction with the service at MCC Bank. He presented three principles to achieve the goal: knowledge, skills, and attitude. By following these principles, staff members and directors can achieve their goals. He called upon us to build the bank with a greater vision and mission for society. He wished that the bank would prosper at the national level and help society attain financial stability.

The general manager, Mr Sunil Menezes, proposed a vote of thanks, and Manu Bantwal compered the program.
