MCC Bank Conducts Annual Performance Review

Mangaluru: The Annual Performance Review for the financial year 2024–25 of MCC Bank Ltd. was held on 14th June 2025 at the P.F.X. Saldanha Memorial Auditorium, Administrative Office, MCC Bank, Mangaluru.

The program was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Valerian D’Souza, Rector and Parish Priest of Our Lady of Holy Rosary, Rosario Cathedral, with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Chairman of the Bank, Sahakara Ratna Shri Anil Lobo, presided over the event.

In his inaugural address, Fr D’Souza expressed immense satisfaction over the bank’s consistent growth over the past decade. He lauded the dedication of the management and staff and emphasized the importance of internal strength and confidence in achieving external success, remarking, “The market can be won only when you have won in your workplace.”

Delivering the presidential address, Chairman Shri Anil Lobo reflected on the Bank’s proud 113-year legacy and acknowledged the unwavering efforts of the staff in taking MCC Bank to greater heights. He congratulated the Managers and staff who were recognized for individual achievements, milestone performances, best-performing branches, social media promotion, and highest turnover for FY 2024–25. He encouraged young staff to step up and meet individual targets to help their branches excel, advising them to step out of their comfort zones and embrace challenges. He urged everyone to adopt a professional, customer-centric approach, uphold integrity, and contribute to both the Bank’s development and the betterment of society.

Shri Balachandra Rao, former General Manager of Canara Bank, delivered an insightful talk on Human Resources and Professionalism. He emphasized that practical experience, coordination, and teamwork are key to success, rather than just theoretical knowledge. He stated that while staff contributions may not appear on the balance sheet, their dedication is reflected in the bank’s achievements and profits. He also underscored the importance of a positive mindset and forming Quality Circles for continuous improvement.

Bank Advisor Shri S.H. Visweswaraiah presented a comprehensive review of the Bank’s performance in FY 2024–25, highlighting key growth parameters and commending the staff for meeting business targets and improving financial performance across branches.

The Staff Performance Review and Award Ceremony – 2025 was presided over by Chairman Shri Anil Lobo. The event was graced by Dr Aloysius Sequeira, former Professor and Dean, NITK Surathkal, and Fr Arun Lobo, Principal of Padua College, as Chief Guests. Vice Chairman Shri Jerald Jude D’Silva, General Manager Shri Sunil Menezes, and all Directors were present on the dais.

Mr Robert Fernandes, a dedicated staff member who retired in April 2025 after 30 years of service, was honoured along with his family.

Children of staff and management who excelled academically and in extracurricular activities were felicitated. Recently married staff members were also honoured, including Professional Director Shri Sushanth Saldanha, who was felicitated along with his wife.

General Manager Shri Sunil Menezes announced the awardees in various categories:

Five-Star Rated Branch (Google Reviews): Kulshekar, Morgansgate, Moodbidri, Shirva, and Ullal branches.

Social Media Target Achievement: Belthangady, Bajpe, Kulshekar, and Morgansgate branches.

Milestone Achievement Award (for completing one year): Brahmavar Branch.

Best Business Performance Branch: Bajpe Branch.

Highest Turnover Branch (FY 2024–25): Kulshekar Branch.

The respective Branch Managers were honoured with a shawl, flower bouquet, award, appreciation certificate, and cash prize. The staff of these branches also received floral bouquets in recognition of their collective effort.

In his keynote message, Dr Aloysius Sequeira congratulated the staff and described MCC Bank as a beacon of trust and prosperity for the Canara Catholic community. He emphasized the need for embracing technology, transparency, and teamwork to advance the bank’s mission.

Fr Arun Lobo praised the family-like culture within MCC Bank and urged staff to be “a shining star at the workplace and a lamp at home,” emphasizing compassion and positivity.
