Mangaluru: National Youth Day Celebration at Milagres College
Mangaluru: NSS unit of Milagres College, Hampankatta, Mangalore, celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi and National youth day on January 17.
Prof Lourdusamy, academic advisor, Mr Cassin Rodrigues, Vice Principal, Mr Denzil E Pinto, NSS Program Officer and student representatives offered floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda.
Prof. Lourdusamy said Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi was celebrated all over the country as National Youth day. Vivekananda also believed that country’s future depends on its people particularly the youth and his teachings focused on human development. He also mentioned the thoughts and life of Swami Vivekananda. Thereafter, Prof Lourdusamy administered the pledge to the students.
Mr Denzil E Pinto welcomed the gathering, Ms Princita J DSouza, assistant Program officer, proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Michelle, NSS student volunteer compered the program. Total of 124 students were present.
The program concluded with National Anthem.
