Mangaluru: General Health Camp organized at Talapady

Mangaluru: The Self Help Groups of CODP® Mangaluru, D.K. Zilla Panchayat Government Primary School, Talapady, Narla Padil; The Directorate of Rural Health Care & Development Center, Yenepoya Deralakatte; Adithya Opticals Balmatta, Mangaluru; and Social Work Department of St Aloysius College Mangaluru jointly organized a free health camp at Talapady Narla Padil School on March 1st.

Mrs Varija Shetty member of SHG, welcomed the guests and other participants.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr Xavier Gomes, Former Principal of St Philomena College Puttur; Rev. Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries on the dais were Dr Vesta representing Yenepoya Hospital Deralakatte, Dr Devika;Yenapoya Medical College Officer, Mrs Indira Teacher of Narla Padil School; Mrs Jayalakshmi Vice President of Talapady Grama Panchayath and Mrs Mamatha, President of S.D.M.C Narla Padil School.

Total 201 participants who attended the camp underwent general checkup and were given prescribed medication immediately. Moreover, 41 people were also given spectacles free of cost.

Mrs Flora member of SHG compeered the programme and Mrs Indira proposed the vote of thanks.

Mrs Vani Raj, Animator of CODP was ably assisted by other SHG members in making the programme a success.
