Mangalore Doctor made Honorary Rotary Member in recognition of his service

Mangaluru: Dr. Edmond Fernandes, Hon. Director, Edward & Cynthia Institute of Public Health, and Chief Coordinator, Department of Public Health, Yenepoya Deemed to be University has been made Honorary Member of the Rotary E-Connect Club of Rotary District 3191. The order was issued by Rotary E-Connect Club President Eswar Kumar Reddy. 

He has been invited as an honorary member of Rotary for his outstanding contributions to society through the CHD Group and joins the global network of Rotarians around the world in making the world better. 

Dr. Edmond, through the CHD Group, has impacted over 3.5 million lives across India and continues to provide technical support to various international organizations, diplomatic missions, and governments as and when needed. CHD Group has worked in the areas of primary healthcare, road safety, disaster risk reduction, climate action and environment protection, WASH initiatives, school health services and various other health initiatives to build India’s healthcare profile and make the community more sustainable and resilient. 

His work has been recognized in the past by global bodies such as the US Department of State, BW Business World, the Atlantic Council, ASOCHAM, and others. 

The Rotary E-Connect Club has been engaged in consistent community service ranging from wheelchair donations to supporting school education, empowering marginalized women, cultivating the habit of reading, and beyond.
