Lourdes Central School organizes LCS Science Week

Mangaluru: “The Exciting World of Science” – The Science Fest was inaugurated at Lourdes Central School on 13th December 2021 by the Principal Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza with glittering lights. The morning assembly was conducted by class V on the theme ‘Science Everyday’. Tanya spoke on how science is useful in our daily life. The students sang a song related to science.

On 14th December 2021 class VI highlighted on the theme ‘Fun With Science’. Students spoke on Isaac Newtons’ Disc and performed a skit on acid and bases by using different indicators.

On 15th December 2021 class VII conducted the morning assembly on ‘Simple Machines’. They enacted a skit on the invention of the plane.

On 16th December 2021 class VIII conducted the morning assembly on ‘Renewable Energy’.

Science Exhibition for classes III to X was organized on 16th December 2021 in their respective classrooms.

On 17th the Finale of the Science Week was conducted by the students of class IX. The models of science exhibition were displayed during the assembly and students highlighted few points about their models. A melodious song on science was sung by the students of the choir group.

Students of classes III to X participated in the science exhibition. The objective of this exhibition was not only to inculcate scientific attitude but also to create an interest in science. Students were excited to conduct the activities assigned to them. They explained the concepts behind their working models. They made models on vacuum cleaner, windmill, water dispenser and many more. Students demonstrated excellent work and a spirit of healthy competition. They explained the functioning of models in an impeccable manner and impressed the judges with their exemplary explanations. The winners were awarded certificates.

It was fun learning for the students. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers. The week culminated with the thought that science is a beautiful gift to humanity and hence we should not distort it. It was a week of fun based learning experience.
