Lourdes Central School Organises LCS Social Science Exhibition 2024

Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School organised LCS Social Science Exhibition 2024 for classes I to VIII on Wednesday, 16th October 2024, on the theme ‘Exploring the World’. The exhibition was inaugurated during the morning assembly by the principal, Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, and vice principals, Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anita Thomas. The inaugural model was explained by Pranjal B of class IXC, and Tanvi R Shetty of class IXC spoke about the significance of the Social Science Exhibition. The students of class III showcased their talents by performing a fashion show pertaining to the different states of India.

The aims and objectives of the Social Science Exhibition were as follows:

  1. To apply what the students learn.
  2. To encourage creative thinking and promote psychomotor skills among students through self-designed models.
  3. To develop social skills necessary to live a life of peace.
  4. To inculcate the feelings of oneness.

The students made models on the following topics:
CLASS – TOPIC
I : Kinds of Houses
II : The Sun, The Earth and The Moon
III : Clothes
IV : Our Culture and Heritage
V : Natural Disaster
VI : Landforms and Life
VII : Media and Technology
VIII : Industries

The models were considered for the subject enrichment activity. The criteria for judgment were design and layout; content, explanation, and accuracy; artistic skill; and overall presentation. The best three models from each section were awarded certificates (I, II & III Prizes and two Consolation Prizes). By combining social science with art, each Lourdite expressed their marvelous plasticity of mind and explored the amazing world around them.
