LCS Holds Four-Day Staff Enrichment Programme “Pathways to Proficiency – Skills for Tomorrow”
Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School conducted a comprehensive four-day Staff Enrichment Programme aimed at updating teachers on emerging technologies and supporting their personal and professional growth.
The programme began on Monday, 26th May 2025, at 8:00 a.m. with the inauguration and blessing of the newly renovated Administration Office and Computer Laboratory. The ceremony was led by the Manager, Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, and the Principal, Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, with a ribbon-cutting. They were joined by Rev. Fr Peter Mascarenhas, Rev. Dr Vincent Sequeira, Rev. Fr Norman Mathais, Rev. Fr Joseph Arul Joseph, Vice Principals Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anita Thomas, Management Committee members, and faculty.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by the Staff Choir, followed by a prayer service led by Rev. Fr Peter Mascarenhas and Rev. Fr Arul Joseph. Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira welcomed the gathering, and in his presidential address, Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha shared inspiring anecdotes on responsibility and the wise use of resources.
















A staff meeting followed at 10:15 a.m. in the LCS Conference Hall, where Rev. Dr Saldanha emphasized the importance of quality teaching, positive classroom management, effective communication with parents, and respect for diversity.
A brief orientation for new staff was also conducted, introducing them to the school’s values and expectations. The Principal then outlined academic plans and responsibilities for the year ahead.
In the afternoon, a training session on Parrophins, the school’s new communication app, was conducted by Mr. Shobit Rai. He provided a comprehensive demonstration of the app’s features and functionalities, equipping teachers with the skills to efficiently manage communication with students and parents, along with administrative tasks.
On 28th May 2025, the school hosted a CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Stress Management for teachers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event began with the symbolic lighting of the lamp, representing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. Resource persons Ms Vandana S Nayak and Ms Alpa Shah delivered an engaging, interactive session incorporating activity-based learning, discussions, and participative methods. Teachers learned practical strategies to manage stress and enhance their overall well-being.
A seminar on “AI Tools in Education” was conducted on 29th May 2025, aiming to empower teachers to integrate AI tools into classroom practices. The session focused on enhancing teaching methods, fostering a tech-savvy environment, and enriching the student learning experience.
The session was led by a resource team from St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, headed by Dr Hareesh B and his colleagues. In his address, Principal Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira urged teachers to move beyond traditional methods and embrace AI to meet the demands of 21st-century education.
A hands-on session in the newly renovated Computer Lab introduced teachers to tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Khanmingo.ai, Sora GPT, and others. Teachers from Milagres Central School also participated, fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas. The resource team shared best practices and strategies for integrating AI effectively into daily teaching.
On 30th May 2025, a session on Personality Management was conducted by Ratna Sagar Publications for the staff of Lourdes Central School.
Principal Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, in his address, highlighted the crucial role teachers play in shaping student personalities, noting that students often emulate their teachers. Enhancing one’s own personality, therefore, has a significant impact on students’ lives.
The session was led by Mrs Sushila Vedula, Principal of a CBSE School in Visakhapatnam, who conducted an insightful workshop focused on emotional regulation, environmental awareness, and the impact of personality on others. Teachers participated enthusiastically, engaging in meaningful discussions and self-reflection.
The four-day enrichment programme concluded on a highly positive note. Each session proved to be informative, interactive, and inspiring, offering valuable insights and practical strategies for both personal and professional development. The enthusiastic participation of the teachers throughout the programme reflected their commitment to continuous learning and excellence in education.
