Lamp lighting & Graduation Ceremony 2022 held at St. Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences, Honavar

Honavar, (Uttar kannada): The lamp lighting/oath taking ceremony for the 12th batch of BSc Nursing and 19th batch of diploma nursing (GNM) Students and Graduation ceremony for the 8th batch of BSc Nursing, 16th batch of GNM & 4th batch of PBBSc Nursing of St. Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences, Honavar, Uttar Kannada was held on March 28th 2022 in college auditorium. The lamp lighting is an auspicious occasion in which formally recognizes the students entry into the nursing profession. Light is a symbol of knowledge and it removes ignorance. The procession started at 10am by I year GNM & BSc students.

On this occasion Sr. Elveena, welcomed the gathering. The programme inaugurated by Rev.Fr.Valerian Sequeira, accompanied by chief guest Dr.leena.K.C, Principal, Yenepoya College of Nursing, Mangalore, guest of honour Mr.Manjunath, Administrator, Shri Kshetra, Bangarmakki, Chairperson Rev. Sr Juliet lobo SRA, Provincial superior, Mangalore province, Sr. Maria Goretti, Director of St. Ignatius institute of Health Sciences, Sis.Diana, Principal, St. Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences and Sis.Susai, vice principal, St. Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences.

 The students were led into the profession with their lamps lit by Sis.Diana, Principal and Sis.Susai, vice principal. Oath administered by Sis. Diana, Principal, St. Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences, followed by address given by the dignitaries. Graduates are awarded with certificates and momentous, the top rankers were appreciated with certificated and medals. UG Granted students and Guides were honored with certificates and gifts. The annual institutional magazine “Voice of Hills” released by Sr. Maria Goretti, Director of St. Ignatius institute of health sciences. Followed by different cultural events performed by students and the Vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Wincy Thirumurugan, associate professor,  St. Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences. Master of ceremony done by Ms. Manisha Baretto and Ms. Ericka Antonio. The ceremony came to an end at 01.30 pm with college anthem followed by lunch.
