International Virtual Conference held at SAC

Prof. Arun Isloor, National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK), stressed importance of polymer membrane technology to protect 2.5% of available freshwater during his talk on the topic Tailormade Polymeric Membranes and Applications of Membrane Technology. Prof. Girish M Joshi Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India chaired the session.
Dr Deepa Raghu PhD, Senior Scientist, R&D Services, Bioreliance|SigmaAldrich| MerckKGaA, Rockville, MD, USA. gave an interesting lecture on the topic Biophysical tools in basic research and drug development.Dr Ronald Nazareth chaired the session.
Dr Smrithika Subramani, University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee USA gave an inspiring lecture on the topic ‘Bottom-up approaches to building autonomous nanomachines’. Dr Prakash Kamath chaired the session.
Dr K. P. Mohanchandra, Scientist, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles, USA. gave a lecture on the topic Magnetic Materials for Multiferroic Applications. Prof. S.M. Dharmaprakash of Mangalore University Chaired the session.
Prof. Harish Kumar,Pondichery College of Engineering, Puducheri, spoke on the topic ‘Optimization as research tool’. Dr Narayan Bhat Chaired the session.
Dr Dhavala Suri, TIFR-Hyderabad spoke on the topic: Proximity Coupled Effects in Quantum Materials, Dr Ishwara Bhat, Chaired the session.

Prof. Prakash P Karat, Formerly Professor of Physics, Mangalore University and presently Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics, St Aloysius College Mangalorefrom the conference Chair said the compartmentalization of science subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, statistics and computer science etc will be no more relevant in the present time research. In the conference 35 research scholars present their research findings. More than 700 participants attended conference. Mr Lawrence Pinto, HOD of the department welcomed all participants. Dr. Chandra Shekhara Shetty T, Convener, of the conference in his initial remarks explained the motive of the conference, Dr Kumara K, Organizing secretary proposed vote of thanks.
