Inauguration of the Nine-Day Novena in Honour of the World-Renowned St Anthony, the Wonder Worker of Dornahalli, Mysore
Dornahalli, Mysore: As the annual feast of St Anthony approaches, the nine-day novena in honour of the Saint commenced on 4th June 2025 at St Anthony’s Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysore. The inauguration was marked by the ceremonial hoisting of the flag by Most Rev. Dr Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Mysore, in the presence of Rev. Fr David Sagayaraj (Rector, St Anthony’s Basilica), Rev. Fr Praveen Pedru (Administrator), Fr Joseph Pakiraj (Chancellor), and Fr Sebastian Alexander (Procurator).
On the first day, the Holy Mass was celebrated by Most Rev. Dr Bernard Moras, followed by a Procession of the Holy Relic and Benediction of the Holy Eucharist. A large number of devotees from various places participated with deep faith and devotion.




























In his brief spiritual message, the Bishop said:
“Life without hope is empty. We must trust in God, who never disappoints and always desires what is good for us.”
The flag donor, Mr Antony from Railway Colony, Bangalore, and the food donor, Mr Nathan from Bangalore, were felicitated for their generous contributions.
The novena will continue until 12th June 2025, culminating in the Annual Feast of St Anthony on Friday, 13th June 2025. The Festive High Mass in Kannada will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Most Rev. Dr Bernard Moras.
