Grand Religious Procession, “Namma Nadige Mudipu Punya Kshetrada Kadege,” to be held on March 16
Mangalore: Under the leadership of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (Regd.) South Zone, a grand spiritual foot pilgrimage titled “Namma Nadige Mudipu Punya Kshetrada Kadege” is set to take place. The event is being organized in collaboration with all churches in the Mangalore South Zone, clergy, religious sisters, parish councils, various organizations, Catholic educational institutions, and 21 commissions, as a Lenten spiritual inspiration and in celebration of the Silver Jubilee of St. Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu.
The pilgrimage will commence from Paneer Church in Kotekar village, with a blessing from Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza and an inauguration by Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello. The closing ceremony will include prayers led by Rev. Fr. Assisi Rebello and Rev. Fr. Santosh Menezes, while Rev. Fr. Cyprian Pinto will impart the final benediction.


This spiritual event coincides with the 2025th year of Jesus Christ’s birth (Jubilee Year) and serves as a transformative Lenten journey. Approximately 5,000 devotees are expected to participate in the pilgrimage, which will proceed from Paneer Church, passing through Derlakatte and Natekal, before concluding at the St. Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu.
A press conference was held to announce the event, attended by prominent members of the Catholic Sabha South Zone, including President Mr. Dolfi D’Souza, Coordinator Mr. Alwyn D’Souza (Paneer), Unit President Mr. Rajat Vegas, St. Joseph Vaz Shrine Silver Jubilee Coordinator Mr. Roshan D’Souza, Vice President Mr. Naveen D’Souza, Secretary Mr. Santosh D’Souza, and Catholic Sabha South Zone Vice President Mr. Arun D’Souza.
