Fr L. M. Pinto Hospital Observes Breast Feeding Week
Mangaluru: The Breast Feeding Week programme was held at Fr L.M. Pinto Health Centre Charitable Trust on August 11, 2024, from 9.30 to 12.30 PM in recognition of World Breast Feeding Week, celebrated globally from August 1st to 7th. The event aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of breast feeding and educate parents and caregivers on best practices for infant and child nutrition.
To mark this occasion, Healthy Baby screening was conducted in the OPD block. Children under the age of 5 were screened and assessed. Eight children were awarded by Dr Denzil Noronha.
A health talk on the benefits of breast feeding and an interactive session for mothers were conducted by Dr Chrisel Jenica D’sa, a PG student at Fr. Muller Homeopathy College, Mangaluru. This was followed by a short-stage programme.
The celebration was presided over by Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator, along with Sr Jyothsna Assistant Administrator, Dr Denzil Noronha, Gynecologist and Senior Medical Officer, Dr Shruthi, Dr Shreevarsha, RMO, Dr Ancy George, Dr Sneha Subedar, Dr Bangi Haritha, and Dr Chrisel Jenica D’Sa from Fr. Muller Homeopathy College.
The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song sung by the hospital staff. Sr Jyothsna welcomed the gathering. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator of the Hospital, in his presidential speech, appreciated the doctors and staff of the hospital for taking an interest in making this event memorable. Gifts were distributed to all the participants. Programme concluded by singing a Thanksgiving hymn. Dr. Shreevarsha compered the programme.
