Final Year PROJECT EXHIBITION ‘TECHNOVA-2024’ held at SJEC, Mangaluru

Mangaluru: TECHNOVA-2024, the Final Year Project Exhibition, was held at SJEC, Mangaluru, on May 2, 2024. TECHNOVA-2024, the Exposition of Projects of Outgoing Josephites, is meant to encourage the creativity and technical talents of the students through their final year projects. This is a great opportunity to expose their creativity, technical knowledge, teamwork, communication skills, and acumen for research and development activities to their peer group, budding engineers, faculty, and the general community.

The event was held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and was hosted by the convener of the program, Mr Joel D’mello, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who briefed the guests about the exhibition.

Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC, welcomed the gathering. He provided an overview of the exhibition and highlighted the importance of final-year BE projects. He emphasized the need for students to use their knowledge and creativity to develop innovative projects that could have a positive impact on society.

Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director, SJEC; Rev. Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta, Assistant Director, SJEC; Dr Purushothama Chippar, Vice Principal, SJEC; and the heads of six engineering departments, along with the department project coordinators, were present during the program. Twenty experts from different industries and technical institutions evaluated 150+ projects carried out in six engineering disciplines, such as Mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and adjudged the best projects of the year, second prize, third prize, and innovative project prize in each discipline.
