Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Observes World Health Day 2025 and Inaugurates Homoeopathic Sapthaha

Mangaluru, April 7, 2025: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC), Deralakatte, observed World Health Day 2025 and inaugurated the Homoeopathic Sapthaha during a formal event held at the college auditorium on April 7 at 3:30 PM.

The event was graced by Dr Mohammad Iqbal, District AYUSH Officer, who was the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Designate Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) and Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital (FMHMCH).

Other dignitaries on the dais included Dr Girish Navada U K, Medical Superintendent of FMHMCH, and Dr Jenita Fernandes, Convener of World Homoeopathy Day 2025.

The programme began with a prayer song rendered by the students of FMHMC. Dr Girish Navada welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

The Homoeopathic Sapthaha, observed from April 7 to 12, was inaugurated with the release of informative flyers announcing a range of health concessions for beneficiaries at FMHMCH:

  • 100% discount on new registration and follow-up consultations
  • 50% discount on Homoeopathic medicines
  • 50% discount on blood tests (CBC, RBC, ESR)
  • 50% discount on urine examination

In his address, Dr Mohammad Iqbal highlighted the scope of Homoeopathy in maternal and child care, aligning with the WHO’s theme for 2025 – “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”. He also noted the crucial role Homoeopathic medicines played as preventive care during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping reduce mortality rates.

As a gesture of appreciation, Dr Iqbal was felicitated with a memento by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo. In his presidential address, Fr Lobo reflected on the origin and significance of World Health Day as initiated by the WHO. He stressed the importance of addressing malnutrition and promoting overall well-being for a healthier society.

Dr Jenita Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks, and Dr Sherlyn Paul compered the programme, which concluded with the singing of the Institutional Anthem.
