Dr Prem Moras Awarded PhD in Konkani

Mangaluru: Dr Prem Moras has been conferred the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by Srinivas University for his research thesis titled “Migration of Konkani People from Goa to Mangalore and its Surrounding Areas – A Study.” He pursued his doctoral research under the guidance of Dr Aravind Shanbhag.

Dr Prem Moras, a native of Mangaluru, currently serves as a lecturer in the Postgraduate Department of Konkani at University College, Hampankatta, affiliated with Mangalore University. His thesis makes a significant contribution to understanding the genuine reasons behind the migration of Konkani people from Goa to Mangalore and its neighboring regions.

Dr Prem Moras is the son of the late renowned Konkani writer Paul Moras and Juliet Fernandes. His academic achievement stands as a testament to his dedication and expertise in the field of Konkani studies.
