Culmination of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of PG Course in Homoeopathy—RAJATHOTHSAVA at FMHMC

Mangaluru: To mark the milestone of completing 25 years of PG courses at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, ‘RAJATHOTHSAVA’ was celebrated with great enthusiasm. This event paid tribute to the relentless pursuit of knowledge and the unwavering spirit of the institution, acknowledging the challenges overcome along the way.

“RAJATHOTHSAVA,” the National Homoeopathic Postgraduate Conference, was held on May 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Father Muller Auditorium, Deralakatte. Dr. Sanjay Gupta, BHMS, MD (Hom), Secretary, National Commission for Homoeopathy, Government of India, New Delhi, was the Chief Guest. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director,FMCI.

The formal inaugural program began with invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song by the postgraduates.

The organizing secretary, Dr Shreyank Kotian, escorted the dignitaries, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, FMCI; Rev. Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator, FMHMCH &HPD; Rev. Fr Ashwin Crasta, Assistant . Administrator, FMHMCH & HPD; Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Principal, FMHMC; Dr Vilma Meera D’Souza, Vice Principal, FMHMC; and Dr Jyoshna Shivaprasad, Convenor/PG Program Coordinator, to the dais. Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran, Principal, FMHMC, delivered the welcome address.

The conference was symbolically inaugurated by the dignitaries lighting the lamp.

The Chief Guest of the Program, Dr Sanjay Gupta, BHMS, MD (Hom), Secretary, National Commission for Homoeopathy, Government of India, New Delhi, gave his inaugural address, in which he acknowledged the presence of great practitioners like Dr Jawahar Shah, Dr. S. K. Tiwari, and many of the glorious alumni of the institution. He expressed that we should all timely update our learning, as it is a reflection of the education received from an institution, which is visible in its alumni. Dr Sanjay Gupta appreciated the institution’s effort in keeping up the level of excellence in service to humanity.

Dignitaries, along with the chief guest, released the souvenir of RAJATHOTHSAVA, which is a compilation of memories of the passed-out batches of PG. 

Rev. Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator, FMHMC&H, gave his message to the audience in which he wished a glorious future to all the postgraduates who will be the torchbearers of the system of homeopathy in the coming years.

Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, presented a memento to the Chief Guest. In his presidential message, he remembered the legacy of Fr Augustus Muller’s hard work in planting the seeds of Homoeopathy in coastal Karnataka and being the pioneer in flourishing it in southern India with the mission of ‘Heal and Comfort’.

About 200 delegates from various parts of the country, representing over 27 colleges, contributed to the resounding success of the conference organized by all 7 departments of the postgraduate course.

The inaugural ceremony was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Organizing secretory, Dr Shreyank Kotian, followed by the institution anthem.

Dr Shivani Singh and Dr Mehar Varghese, PG scholars, compered the program.

Dr Jaswant Patil, M.B.B.S, M.D(Chest), BHMS, MA (Alt Therapy), Fellowship in Medical Yoga, was the resource person for the conference and spoke on Addressing Clinical Challenges through Evidence-Based Solutions”.

Open forum paper presentation for postgraduate scholars of Homoeopathy from all over India and postgraduate alumni of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, and the final round of the National level quiz for postgraduates and interns was held on the day of the conference.

The winners of various competitions will be announced at the valedictory ceremony.

On the occasion of 25 years of PG courses in Homoeopathy, the Audiology Speech and Therapy OPD was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, FMCI, at 9 a.m., followed by the laying of the foundation stone for the Father Muller Commercial Complex.

The Silver Jubilee celebration will conclude on a festive note with a culturally extravagant banquet.
