Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Natural Christmas Star Making: a unique star made from 10 different materials

Moodbidire: A unique rotating Christmas star made by Life Seva Samsthe of Shirtadi, this star is built using grains such as millets, mustard, and coriander.
This Nakshatra will be put on display in the premises of Mount Carmel Church in Shirtadi from December 23rd to January 5th on the occasion of Christmas.
The Nakshatra weighs 120 kg and is 12 feet tall and 11 feet wide. At the centre of the Nakshatra is an attractive thatched-roof godali depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
This Nakshatra is designed as a moving model, for which a 1 HP motor and a vehicle housing are fitted.
Prasanna Joel Sequeira, head of the organization, worked for three continuous weeks to prepare this book. Along with him, members of the organisation—Naveen Shetty Shirtadi, Cyprian D’Souza Shirtadi, Ramesh Shetty Mangalore, and Nagaraj Alangaru—have collaborated.

This organisation has been involved in large-scale star-making for the past 10 years and has been making stars every year using a unique variety of materials.
Ten different types of materials are used for this nakshatra.
This year’s star is made of 1 kg of mustard, 1 kg of coriander, 1 kg of gram, 1 kg of millet, 2 kg of groundnut, 20 kg of raw betel nut, 2 kg of dry betel nut, a motor, vehicle housing, and wooden pieces, and it is powered by electricity and decorated with lights.

This nakshatra was built with the cooperation of the interfaith community, with the original intention of communal harmony. It often speaks of the need for mutual peace and tranquility.
