Celebrating Legacy: Mount Carmel Central School Honours Grandparents
Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, fittingly honoured the Grandparents with a celebration on July 26th, 2024, hosted by the Kindergarten children. The celebration began with a prayer dance, imploring God to abundantly bless the grandparents. The guests, Dr Susan Rasquinha, Consultant Paediatrician, Yenepoya Nursing Home, Mangalore, and Dr Victor Rasquinha, Freelance Gynecologist, Mangalore, were fondly welcomed and introduced by the students.
The cultural programme was an assemblage of languages showcased in dance drama, which was a feast for the eyes of the grandparents. The grandparents felt proud when they saw their grandchildren performing their best for them.
The guest, Dr Susan Rasquinha, appreciated and applauded the meticulous effort of the students and their mentors at the outset. In her speech, she cited the significance of grandparents and the role they play in the lives of the third generation.
The principal, Sr Melissa, was overwhelmed to witness an august gathering of grandparents. In her message, she mentioned how the grandchildren turn the houses into homes for the old and the young and also how the grandparents can maintain a healthy, youthful, and joyful life by nurturing this beautiful relationship.
The little MCs of the celebration confidently took over the ceremony. The students at UKG expressed heartfelt gratitude. Teacher Neetha conducted games full of fun, frolic, and competition. Refreshments were served at the end of the programme.
The entrance of the auditorium was adorned with photographs of students with their grandparents, creating a nostalgic display. An exhibition of the antiques used by the grandparents added a vintage charm to the auditorium. The whole atmosphere was filled with an aura of gladness, satisfaction, creativity, and gratitude.
