Blood Donation Camp Organized at St Agnes College, Mangaluru
Mangaluru: A one-day Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on April 7, 2025. The event was a joint initiative by the Youth Red Cross, NCC, and NSS Units of the college, in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College, Mangaluru.
The camp was inaugurated by Sr Dr Maria Roopa A.C., Joint Secretary of St Agnes Institutions, who also served as the Chief Guest. In her inaugural address, she encouraged students to contribute to society through such life-saving acts.
Dr Kirana Pailoor, Pathologist and Blood Bank In-Charge at Father Muller Medical College, spoke on the importance of voluntary blood donation and how it plays a crucial role in saving lives. The presidential address was delivered by Sr Dr M Venissa A.C., who appreciated the collaborative efforts of various student units in organizing the camp.












The event was graced by several dignitaries including Mrs Prajwal Rao (Programme Officer, Youth Red Cross), Dr Uday Kumar (Programme Officer, NSS), Captain Gayathri B.K. (ANO, Army Wing) and Flying Officer Dr Hithakshi B. (ANO, Air Wing).
The program began with a welcome address by Ms Ananya K, followed by compering by Ms Jane Sara George. Ms Suhani proposed the vote of thanks.
Active participation from student leaders like Ms Shreya Ravi N K (Youth Red Cross Secretary), Mr Dan Charles (NSS Secretary), and CQMS Lipishree K (NCC Secretary) contributed to the success of the camp. Volunteers from NSS, NCC, and Youth Red Cross worked tirelessly to manage the event.
The camp witnessed participation from students of other institutions, parents, and well-wishers, all contributing generously. A total of 99 pints of blood was collected, marking the camp as a commendable achievement in community service.
