Awareness on Sparsha – Campaign against Cancer at Kapikad Govt. School
Mangaluru: Caritas India and CODP® Mangaluru, organizes Sparsha- Awareness on Cancer at Kapikad Government school on November 15th, 2021.
On the occasion of Children’s Day awareness on cancer and healthy life style was organized for the students of Kapikad School.
Ms. Shilpa Dsouza coordinator of Sparsha welcomed the faculty and students for the awareness talk. She stated the causes, symptoms and types of cancer. She mentioned the ratio of mortality which has occurred due to cancer. She focused on Early Detection and treatment and told use of Tobacco, Alcohol, Smoking and consumption of fast foods, would also lead to cancer. Advice on avoiding junk food was also told to the children attended. In order to prevent the disease students were suggested to grow vegetables in their own garden without using chemicals which will reduce the risk of getting Cancer and other related diseases. By doing yoga and exercise we can maintain our fitness she added. And by “Adopting healthy life style we can Beat Cancer” and therefore reduce the rate of mortality.
Session was very interactive, students were proactive.
Time duration of the session was from 11.30am to 12.00pm.
