Annual Sports Meet Inaugurated at Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady

Belthangady: The Sports Meet aims at bringing out the potential and sportsmanship qualities of the students. To accomplish this Annual Sports Meet of Holy Redeemer English Medium School was inaugurated on November 28th in a grand manner.

The school band led by band leader Jevita Rodrigues and Ashel D’Souza escorted the guests to the venue. 

The chief guest, Mr Nithin Poojary, Physical Education Director of SDM Polytechnic College, a recipient of the prestigious Ekalavya award, with

Correspondent Very Rev Fr Walter D’Mello, Headmaster Rev Fr Clifford Pinto, Parish Pastoral Secretary Mr Gilbert, PTA Vice President Mr Ramesh, and Church Higher Primary School Headmistress Mrs Renney Vas were the guests. Mr Prajwal of Mariambika English Medium School, Bangady, was an official.

The event began by singing a hymn of praise to beseech God’s blessings. 

School Pupil Leader Vaishnavi requested the guests to hoist the school flag to acclaim the school event.

Heartfelt words of welcome by the Headmaster were warm and pleasant. 

Annual Sports Meet was formally inaugurated by unrolling the school squad names. 

Students who represented the school in various district-level events were the torchbearers. The burning torch was handed over to the chief guest by Alston DSilva to get consent to begin the meet.

March past by the school squad Blue Bunnies, Green teens, Red Robins and Yellow Bees signified unity and discipline. The school band performed a wonderful musical display. Followed by an aerobic dance by all squad members added more spark to the event.

The solemn oath-taking ceremony was conducted by the Sports Minister Karan and Assistant Sports Minister Vivan Pinto. The leaders of the school squads, Mohammad Asif, Nijith, Deeksha, and Prajnesh, took an oath on taking part in the sports of events in true spirit as a team.

Physical Education Teacher Mr Girish proposed the heartfelt vote of thanks.

Students Velona Pinto and Fathimath Afrath, under the guidance of Teacher Shrilatha, compered the program wonderfully. 

After the inauguration, various individual track and team events took place magnificently.
