Annual Sports Meet held at Holy Redeemer School, Belthangady

Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady, held its school annual sports meet on November 10th and 11th in splendor on the school grounds.
The meet began gracefully with the school choir seeking God’s grace through a hymn.
Chief Guest Mr. Prakash D’Souza, Physical Director of Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar, was escorted by Correspondent V. Rev. Fr. Walter D’Mello, Headmaster Rev. Fr. Clifford Pinto, Parish Pastrol Council Vice President Mr Walter Monis and PTA Vice President Mrs Supriya D’Souza.
School Pupil Leader Dhravya Bhandary greeted the Chief Guest on behalf of the school.
Melston of class 10 welcomed the gathering.
The burning torch was carried by Alston D’Silva of class 8 and other athletes who represented the district in the athletic meet. The torch was then handed over to the chief guest as a symbol of light and spirit.
School Sports Minister Sweedal Vas of Class 10, along with squad leaders Allen of the Green Squad, Kripa of the Yellow Squad, Renvita of the Blue Squad, and Shravya of the Red Squad, took an oath of sportsmanship.
Events such as Running, Shotput, Disc throw, High jump, Long jump, Relay, Kabaddi and Tug of war were organized in four categories for High School and Primary School Boys and Girls separately.
Individual championships secured by Alston DSilva of class 8 in High school boys, Veona Rego of class 10 in High school girls, Shravani of class 7 in Primary girls and Shreyas and Arvin of class 7 in Primary boys were honoured with a medal, trophy, and certificate.
The winners in all events were honoured on the victory stand with a medal and certificate.
The correspondent and Headmaster appreciated the participation of students and congratulated the winners.
Lahari of class 7 rendered the vote of thanks. Lavisha D’Costa of class 9 hosted the program.
The physical education teacher, Mr Sarath Pinto, was the coordinator, assisted by Mr Sumanth, Christ Academy School Physical Education Teacher.
All teaching and non-teaching staff, along with students, cooperated with all necessary arrangements to make the sports meet a grand success.
