A Joyful Journey of Mount Carmel’s Summer Camp 2025

Mangaluru: The vibrant and enriching Summer Camp at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, which culminated on April 16, 2025, was a joyous tapestry of learning, creativity, and wholesome fun—leaving every participant brimming with unforgettable memories.

Each day kicked off with high-energy Zumba sessions led by the city’s celebrated dance maestros, Mr. Sandesh and Mr. Sandeep, setting a cheerful and active tone. Personality Development sessions nurtured poise, proper posture, dining etiquette, kindness, self-confidence, and the value of friendship.

The Little Scientist segment awakened scientific curiosity through delightful experiments such as the toothpick experiment, color-changing water, magic milk rainbow, balloon blowing, rainbow density experiment, invisible ink, creating a star using toothpicks and soap, a lab tour with specimen observation, making sundials to track time using shadows, and blending colors on tissue paper to create a rainbow.

Artistic expression flourished as students explored bird’s nest pot painting, colourful paper fans, vibrant collage work, creative colouring, and wool keychain crafting. Culinary curiosity was sparked in the Cooking Without Fire sessions, where students prepared and relished kokum mocktail, tang-orange and lemon fizz, charmuri, watermelon mocktail, and the crowd-favourite pani puri.

Yoga sessions brought inner calm and mindfulness, while indoor and outdoor games nurtured team spirit, agility, and joy. Campers enjoyed a delightful outing to Panambur Beach, where they played on the sand, enjoyed fun rides, and laughed with their friends. Another trip to Pilikula Science Park helped students develop scientific temperaments while engaging with interactive equipment, followed by some well-deserved relaxation in the park. The adventure movie at Big Cinema Theatre, Bharath Mall, added a silver-screen sparkle to their camp experience.

The Prince and Princess competition was a regal affair, where contestants proudly represented different Indian states, answered questions from esteemed judges, and dazzled on the ramp walk. Deserving winners were crowned during the finale.

The Sports Camp brought out boundless energy as campers formed teams—Summers, Blue Star, Carmel Winners, and Carmel Fighters—competing in games and cheering each other on with true sportsmanship. Victors were celebrated with pride and applause.

The grand closing ceremony on April 16 was the perfect finale. Students shared heartfelt reflections and showcased their talents through dance, art, science, and drama. Parents beamed with pride as they witnessed their children’s confidence and joy. The celebration ended with a lively Zumba performance, radiating enthusiasm and unity.

Summer Camp 2025 was truly a beautiful blend of learning, discovery, and delight—moulding every Carmel Star into a more confident, curious, and joyful individual.
