3 day Webinar on “COVID-19: Educator’s Challenges and Responses” inaugurated at St Agnes College
Mangaluru: A 3 day Webinar on “COVID-19: Educator’s Challenges and Responses”, organized by the Departments of Psychology and Clinical Psychology at St. Agnes Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research kicked off today with the inaugural function.
At the outset, Dr. Kavyashree K.B led the attendees in prayer. The function was presided over by the Principal, Sr. Dr. Venissa A.C, who gave a warm message for all the attendees. She spoke of how COVID-19 has changed our lives, and how having a positive outlook and practicing self-care can be useful tools in overcoming these difficult times.
The M.C., Ms. Sarah Crasta introduced the Convener of the Webinar, Dr. V. Premanand, who gave an overview of the plan for all the sessions scheduled for the three days. The Webinar is to be conducted over the 15th, 16th and 17th of June and the intended beneficiaries are school and higher secondary school teachers. It will cover a range of topics relevant to managing the stress and anxieties brought by the COVID-19 situation in the country, and particularly, how one can manage the tensions arising from concerns about childcare and social distancing, syllabus completion, hygiene and other such challenges. The inaugural function was then closed with the introduction of the first speaker of the day.
