Vice Principal of St Philomena College Prof. Dinakara Rao attains Superannuation

Puttur:  The Vice Principal of St Philomena College Puttur Prof. Dinakara Rao attains superannuation on March 31, 2022. He began his profession as Lecturer in Economics at Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar on July 1, 1985 and was transferred to St Philomena College Puttur on June 1, 2006. During his career of 36 years and 9 months, he worked as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, HoD of Economics, Dean of Arts Faculty and Vice Principal of the College. He has also rendered his service in Milegres College Kallianpur from June 26, to July 10, 2001.

         Prof. Dinakara Rao, had his early education at Government Lower Primary School Shalethadka, Government Higher Primary School Kuntalapalke and Government High School Arasinamakki of Belthangady Taluk.  Thereafter, he joined SDM College Ujire for his PU and Degree studies. He obtained his Master’s degree in Economics with First Rank from Mangalore University and LLB from Mysore University.

         During his illustrious career, Prof. Rao successfully carried out various posts of responsibilities in the College and offered from the University. He was a member of the Board of Studies (BOS) in Business Management, Rural Development and Cooperation and also a member of BoS in Economics of Mangalore University. He has discharged his duty as the Chairman of Board of Examiners in Economics of Mangalore University for two terms. He was a BOS and BOE member of different autonomous colleges affiliated to Mangalore University. He was also NSS Programme Officer, Student Welfare Officer, Director of Suraksha Consumer Forum, Director of Humanities Association, Coordinator of the Postgraduation studies in Economics, Nodal Officer of Electoral Literacy Club, Master Trainer in Assembly and Parliament Elections and Public Relation Officer of the College.

     At present, he is residing at Mukrampady, Puttur. His better half Mrs. Vani Dinakara Rao is a home maker. His daughter Ms. Sahana Rao, alumnus of St Philomena College, Post Graduate in chemistry and pursuing her B.Ed., in St Aloysius Institute of Education Mangalore.
