Van Mahotsav and clean drive celebrated at Fermai church by ICYM and catholic sabha

Mangaluru: On the occasion of Van Mahotsav , the members of Catholic Sabha & Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Fermai parish in assistance with Commission for Ecology of the parish organized Clean Drive and Plant Distribution Program on July 17th.

The program commenced at 8:30 am after mass. Mr.Lancy D’Souza President of Catholic Sabha welcomed the gathering. Later the chief guest, parish priest Rev. Dr. Mark Castelino addressed the gathering about the intense of environment & its preservation and planted a sapling as an opening for the program. Later plants were distributed to every families of the parish. ICYM president Allen Dsa gave the vote of thanks. Prashanth Saldanha compered the program.

After this program the members of Catholic Sabha as well as ICYM initiated to collect the waste from Fermai church campus till Ullaibettu grama panchayat. Collected about one ton of garbage/ plastic waste. This motive was highly appreciated by the public.
