Udupi: Community day celebrated at Parapady Church

Udupi, Sep 05: The faithful of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Parapady celebrated community day on September 2, 2018. 

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr Herold Pereira,the director of Small Christian Communities(SCC) of the diocese of Udupi.The theme of the day was 'Together we build out community'. 









The Holy Eucharist was followed by cultural programme in the hall. 

The programme began with a prayer service lead by Mrs. Precilla Lobo. Mrs.Jecintha D’Sa, co-ordinator of SCC welcomed the gathering. 

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by all representatives of the five wards. Mrs Florine Noronha the co-ordinator of the SCC of Karkala deanery was present as the Chief guest. 









































She addressed the gathering quoting Mother Theresa 'Let your hearts love on another and let your hands serve one another'.In view of the community day celebration there were inter-ward quiz,cricket matches, best out of waste and tug- of-war. Prizes were distributed for the winners. 

The Parish Priest addressed the gathering recalling the gradual growth of SCC and faith life of community.Fr Herold Pereira conveyed the greetings of the day and in his address appreciated the growth of SCC in the parish. 

Mrs.Lidwin D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.The programme was comprered by Ms.Joslin Lobo. All the 5 wards prepared variety of food items and at the end of the programme all enjoyed a delicious fare. More than 170 people took part in this programme and witnessed the unity of the church.
