Bangalore, Sep 03: Bangalore Konkani Catholic Sangh® (BKCS), Koramangala held its 21st Annual General Body meeting (AGM) at Holy Cross Hall, Maruthinagar near here on Saturday, August 26.
FKCA Chairman Mr.Edward D'souza was the chief guest of the evening.
AGM started at 6.30 pm with a prayer by Fr.Faustine Lobo (National Director, Pontifical Mission Organization).
Secretary Alwyn Rasquinha read out the minutes of last AGM and also put the spotlight on the activities of the year 2016. Treasurer Maxim Lobo presented the annual audits.
BKCS on the occasion honoured 10 children who scored more than 90% in SSLC, PUC and also honoured Allen Miranda , a Engineering student who stood first in Oxford Engineering College, Bangalore. The organisation also honoured senior members of BKCS above 80 years.
While addressing the gathered, Fr. Faustine Lobo appreciated the good work done by BKCS over the last 20 years. He also commended on the unique program of felicitating senior members as well as children who excelled in academics. Fr.Faustine Lobo hailed elders for their contribution to the society and urged them to continuously guide the present generation.
In his address, FKCA chairman Mr.Edward D'souza stressed upon promoting and uplifting of Konkani language and culture. He thanked all member associations of FKCA for their support due to which Konkani mass is being offered on Sunday's in many churches in Bangalore.
President William Pinto welcomed all members and their family’s while Secretary Alwyn Rasquinha rendered the vote of thanks.
BKCS started in 1996 by the few social minded individuals with a objective to promote, educate, conserve social and cultural heritage and traditions of Konkani language. It has over 650 life members.
