TWO DAY NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AGRARIAN DISTRESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND POLICIES

Mangaluru, Mar 5: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Departments of Economics and Political Science will be organising an ICSSR sponsored two day National Conference entitled ‘Agrarian distress and environmental issues and policies’ on 10 and 11 March 2020 at St Agnes conference hall. The inaugural program will begin at 9.30 am on 10 March. The valedictory will be held on 11 March 2020 at 3.30 pm.

Dr H C Sharatchandra, Former Chairman, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board will be the inaugrator of the conference. Prof. Venkatachalam, MIDS, Chennai will deliver the key note address. The program will be presided over by Sr Dr M Jeswina AC, Principal, St Agnes College, Mangaluru.

There will be four technical sessions, paper presentations as well as panel discussion on these days.

Dr Ravindra Kumar B, Chairman, Department of Studies and Research in Economics, Tumkur University, Tumkur, Karnataka, Dr Rajesh Mohan, Regional Director, IGNOU, Vadakara, Kerala, Dr Duraisamy, Associate professor, Department of Economics, Madras Christian College, Chennai and Mr Varanashi Krishnamoorthy, VDRF, Adynadka are the resource persons. The panellists for the panel discussion themed Sustainable Agriculture and Environment are Ms Sharon D’Souza, Environment and social officer SCPMIP, Govt of Karnataka, Ms Vidya Nayak, Environmental activist, guruvayanakere, Mr Vasantha Kaje, Agriculturalist, Uppinangady. Dr Vignesh Varmudi, Principal, Nalanda College of Arts and Science, Perla, Kerala will be the moderator for the panel discussion.

The students, teachers and scholars from various parts of India will be taking part in these two day conference.
