Triad Celebrations at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru
Mangaluru: A festive atmosphere reigned at the premises of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, on October 31, 2023, as the students geared up for the celebration of the golden jubilee of the formation of Karnataka, along with the celebration of National Unity Day and Diwali.
The programme commenced by lighting the diyas, followed by invoking God’s blessings. The hosts, students of Grades III E and IV E, accorded a unique welcome and introduced the Chief Guest, Mrs. Ashwitha, the Kannada teacher of the institution. As a tribute to the State language, the significance of the day was very well articulated in Kannada. The vibrant cultural programme, consisting of songs, dances, and skits, was a blend of the three celebrations—National Unity Day, Karnataka Rajyotsava, and Diwali—along with the traditions and culture.
The chief guest in her message urged the parents and the students to remain passionate about Kannada, the State language. Prarthana Prabhu and Shreyas Sathish Kamath welcomed the gathering, while Anna Prisha Fernandes and Dimple Jain proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended on a note of belongingness to Karnataka State by singing the Nada Geethe.
