“Tree Planting Campaign” launched at St Philomena College,Puttur

Puttur: The National Disaster Response Force, Mangalore, and Regional Rescue Centre, Bangalore, under the joint auspices of the Post Graduate Department of Social Work and Post Graduate Department of Commerce, St Philomena College, Puttur, conducted an environmental protection programme by planting saplings around the college stadium recently.

The program was led by Team Commander Shiva Kumar, 10/BN National Disaster Response Force Mangalore, Regional Rescue Centre, Bangalore. The Principal of the College, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, who presided over the programme, said that involving the NDRF in the tree plantation program on campus brings him immense pleasure as the youth in the NDRF are renowned for professionalism, indomitable bravery, compassion, and empathy. He also said greenery on campus brings in positive vibes, thereby providing a serene, study-friendly atmosphere. Saplings were planted around the stadium with the cooperation of the students and commanders.

Commanders of the National Disaster Response Force, students of the Postgraduate Centre, and the faculty participated in this Programme.
