The 33rd session of All India Konkani Parishad will be held on the 26th and 27th of October 2024 at Ravindra Bhavan Margao Goa
Mangaluru: The two-day event will be inaugurated by Dr. Ganesh Devi, a veteran writer and language scholar, on 26th morning. The parshad will deliberate on different issues pertaining to the language, which include Konkani in education, use of technology in the development of language, etc. The parishad will be attended by delegates from Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa.
Fr. Mouzinho Ataide is nominated as the president of the parishad , which position he will hold for two years. Former president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Prashant Naik is the chairman of the reception committee, and Anant Agni and Mangaldas Bhat are the working president and secretary of the organising committee.
A delegation consisting of Chetan Acharya, working president of the Parishad,, Prashant Naik, and Sudin Lolayekar toured the States of Karnataka and Kerala to mobilise delegates for the Parishad.
Founded in 1939 by the late Madhav Manjunath Shanbag, the parishad is working towards the development of the Konkani language and its people. The organisers have appealed to the Konkani people of Karnataka to attend the Parishad in large numbers.
The press conference was addressed by Chetan Acharya, working president of the parishad and Prashant Naik, chairman of the reception committee. Dr Kasturi Mohan Pai, H.M. Pernal, Titus Noronha, and Melvyn Rodrigues were present for the press conference.
