Teachers Day is celebrated at St Agnes P.U. College, Mangaluru
Mangaluru: Teachers Day is celebrated every year with great gaiety and ardor. This day marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishna, the first Vice President of India. On this day, students pay homage to their teachers, who have selflessly strived to make their students excel not only in academics but also helped mold them into good human beings. The day recognizes the pivotal role that teachers play and the profound impact they have on students.
The day began with a solemn prayer song by students invoking the blessings of the Almighty on their beloved teachers. The rest of the day wore a festive hue as the students regaled the teachers with games and innovative cultural programmes. The teachers were highly appreciative of the ingenuity and flair with which the students took the event to a whole new level.
The Parents-Teachers Association too went to immense trouble to showcase their love, respect, and regard for the teachers by putting up a dazzling entertainment programme coupled with games and exciting prizes. They were very laudatory of the role teachers play in a student’s life. Mr Joel Fernandes, Department of Physics, expressed the sentiments of the staff and management when he thanked the PTA members. The event concluded with a fellowship meal in honour of teachers.
