St Philomena College Hosts Guest Lecture on “Ekalavya – The Greatest Tribal Archer”
Puttur, 28 April 2025: The Hindi Department of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, organized a guest lecture titled “Ekalavya – The Greatest Tribal Archer” at the PG Seminar Hall on Saturday.
The session was led by Mrs. Harsha K.P., Head of the Hindi Department at Heera Women’s College, Mangaluru. In her address, she emphasized the importance of applying acquired knowledge wisely. She stated that sharing knowledge is a noble act that ultimately paves the way to success. She further remarked that the flame of knowledge within us should always remain lit, serving as a guide and illumination throughout life.
The Principal of the College, Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, presided over the programme. In his presidential address, he called upon students to awaken the spirit of Ekalavya within them. He stressed the importance of humility and respect in the pursuit of knowledge and cautioned against arrogance. He encouraged students to honour their teachers with sincerity and to develop self-confidence.




The winners of the competition “The Last Bell – The Murder Mystery”, organized by the Hindi Department, were felicitated during the event.
Dr. Dimple Jennifer Fernandes, Head of the Hindi Department, and Assistant Professor Ms. Dimple Tauro were present on the occasion.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by Madhura. Saba Ashfiya extended a warm welcome; Ashlesh proposed the vote of thanks, and Sanjana efficiently compered the event.
