St Philomena College Celebrates Birth Anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda
Puttur January ,12: St Philomena College Puttur celebrated National Youth Day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda under the auspices of NCC ARMY and NAVY units, ROVERS and RANGERS, NSS and STUDENT COUNCIL in association with IQAC, in the SJM Hall of the College. The programme began with the offering of floral tribute to the portrait of the passionate patriot, great orator and a prolific thinker. Rev.Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the College presided over the programme and in his presidential remarks he said “Swamy Vivekananda is a great Saint who spread the great message of Universal Brotherhood and Humanity to the entire world. His ideology and thinking is continual motivation to humankind. When the youth is empowered, the nation soars to greater heights.”
Prashath Rai, Asst. Professor,Dept of Business Administration spoke on the ideologies of Swamy Vivekananda and also elaborated on the biography of the great saint .In his lecture he said,” Youth is synonym for unquenchable and boundless spirit .Youth is always a strong entity. Swamy Vivekananda made the entire universe to know about the culture and heritage of mother nation as his love for the nation is boundless. It is because of this his thoughts are relevant even today.”
Hithashree and group rendered prayer. NSS Programme Officer Pushpa N welcomed. Thejaswi Bhat , Programme Office NCC Navy ,proposed vote of thanks.NCC Army Programme officer Lt Johnson David Sequeira and Rovers and Rangers Programme Officer Dhanya P T were present on the dais. Nuthana compered the programme.
